These include resolving most complex issues, from selecting the best technologies for long-term growth to improving engineering performance and maximizing revenue through effective sales and marketing initiatives.
Ren has served in senior management roles at leading organizations in the US and EU. He was chief technology strategist at central marketing of CE Division at STMicroelectronics and managed its No.1 customer project to successful launch of multiple digital video products capturing numerous best awards in Japan. Ren was vice president at Digital5, a software company that pioneered the concept of "digital home" making sharing digital contents in multiple devices a reality.
Ren is an accomplished engineer who excels at taking the best technology to real market and creating major impact in the industry. His career started in 1990 at Panasonic's audio-video research labs in Japan and US. He later joined Sarnoff as a core team member that created one of world's first integrated HDTV system-on-the-chip solutions. In addition to busy engineering tasks, he represented Panasonic and IEEE at Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) and campaigned for progressive scanning format which became an HDTV format endorsed by FCC followed by the Japanese government. He received the prestigious Matsushita Board of Directors Award for this achievement titled "For paving the way to launching progressive-scanning broadcasting and PC/CE convergence products in the world".
Ren received a BSEE degree from University of Arizona and a MSEE degree from New Jersey Institute of Technology. He lives in Suburban Philadelphia.
