Ren's focus on leading-edge technology, market
demands, international business practices and multinational project
management ensures all Rexcel Group’s customers unique and
effective consultations. These include resolving most complex issues,
from selecting the best technologies for long-term growth to improving
engineering performance and maximizing revenue through effective
sales and marketing initiatives.
Ren has served in senior management roles at leading
organizations in the US and EU. He was chief technology strategist
at central marketing of ST Microelectronics’ CE Group and
managed its No.1 customer project to successful launch of several
digital video products that captured best awards in Japan. Most
recently Ren was vice president at Digital5 where he led strategic
market development, systems engineering, program management and
product deployment services. Digital5 pioneered the concept of “digital
home” product category and its software has been deployed
in Gateway’s network DVD player, Netgear’s Wireless
Digital Music Player, Philips’ streaming media devices, among
others.
Ren is an accomplished engineer who excels at taking
the best technology to real market and creating major impact in
the industry. He honed that ability through business-minded engineering
work at Matsushita’s laboratories in Osaka and New Jersey
and at Sarnoff Corporation in Princeton. His campaign for 480p systems
at Advanced Television Systems Committee won FCC's endorsement
as a U.S. Digital HDTV format and paved the way for introduction
of progressive-scanning products and PC/CE convergence products
around the world. He received the prestigious Matsushita Board of
Directors Award for this achievement.
Ren received a BSEE degree from University of Arizona
and a MSEE degree from New Jersey Institute of Technology. He holds several
patents and is fluent in English, Mandarin Chinese, Japanese and
Taiwanese. He lives in Bucks County between Princeton and Philadelphia.
